Work Experience

This page includes examples of work experience that I have completed and achieved over the past few years in my own time, at university and in the workplace. Each example that I have provided, presents certain skills that are needed in careers that I aim to achieve in the future. Some skills include developing a broad understanding of communication in digital and social media and the ability to communicate at a high level of written, oral, visual, social and problem-solving skills.

ACT Emergency Services Agency 

Corporate Communications Officer ASO5                                                  October 2021

  • Proactively identify positive news stories to promote the ACTESA and emergency services within the community

  • Produce and publish digital content and help manage ACTESA’s digital channels, including social media, websites and intranets

  • Conduct monitoring, analysis, evaluations and reporting on ACTESA’s digital channels to drive best practice

  • Provide advice and direction to stakeholders on structure for digital content based on best practice content design principals

Australian Bureau of Statistics

Social Media and Customer Support Officer  (APS4)              1 July 2021 – 17 Sep 2021

  • Worked as part of ABS’s first certified Social Media and Customer Support team for the 2021 Census

  • Assisted with the development of social media content to support a multi-platform strategy

  • Monitor and moderate social media comments, engagement, and posts

  • Support the Communications team to schedule content, evaluate and report on social media engagement using analytics and metrics

  • Highly motivated with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving social media environment.

  • Assist in customer service and interacting successfully with a diverse range of people

  • Involved with telecommunication services with clients, stakeholders and customer inquiries

  • Experience in monitoring finances

  • Assisting in decision-making processes and collaborating. This includes product management such as price changes, handling returns and damaged products and providing information and service to consumers

  • Coordinating and supervising other employee’s activities on registers and leading new staff in a foreign working environment

  • Showing flexibility with regard to employment shifts

Strategic Public Relations Group (SPRG)

University of Canberra Malaysia Internship                               6 Jan 2020 – 13 Feb 2020

  • Assisted in developing proposals for clients, which required attention to detail and good time management to ensure they were delivered on time

  • Participated in internal and external networking events/meetings and represented clients at engagement sessions with a diverse range of people

  • Assisted the consumer team in the preparation for PUMA’s #StepToTheZone Media Launch & Special Training Session launch event

  • Collaborated in teamwork task activities and with minimal supervision
